New Delhi/IBNS: Lower order batters Axar Patel and Ravichandran Aswhin rescued India from a complete batting collapse against Australia on the second day of the second Test in the Border Gavaskar Trophy here on Saturday.

Axar has already slammed a half century while Ashwin is also aptly supporting the former.

India were reduced to 139/7 at one point after losing Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli and KL Bharat post lunch.

Lyon has picked five wickets while Todd Murphy and Matthew Khunemann shared one wicket each.

India bowled out Australia on the first day for 263.
