Australian cricket icon Shane Warne passes away at 52
Australian cricket legend Shane Warne died of suspected heart attack in Thailand on Friday. He was 52.
“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” Warne’s management confirmed in a statement to the Australian media.
According to reports, he suffered a heart attack.
Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar expressed shock and wrote: "Shocked, stunned & miserable…Will miss you Warnie. There was never a dull moment with you around, on or off the field. Will always treasure our on field duels & off field banter. You always had a special place for India & Indians had a special place for you. Gone too young!"

In his reaction to the news, Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) president and former cricketer Sourav Ganguly said: "Can't believe this ..one of the greatest ..life is so unpredictable..one must realise health is most important then anything else and there is no compromise on that.."
Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan expressed his grief on Warne's demise, tweeting: "Shane Warne was a crowd puller. Magician with the ball. Absolute legend of Australian cricket. First IPL winning captain. He will be missed, He will be remembered forever. #rip #shanewarne"

Widely considered one of the greatest bowlers in cricket history, the former Australian skipper was named one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in the 1994 Wisden Cricketers' Almanack.
Affectionately known as ‘Warnie’, he was the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World in 1997 (Notional Winner).
Warne was banned from the sport in 2003 for testing positive for a prohibited substance. Following the ban, he was named Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World for the year 2004 in the 2005 Wisden Cricketers' Almanack.
In 2000, he was selected by a panel of cricket experts as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Century, the only specialist bowler selected in the quintet, and the only one still playing at the time.
He officially retired from all formats of cricket in July 2013.
