Australia fight back to extend lead to 333, Bumrah picks up four wickets to keep India in game

Australia extended the lead 333 runs at the end of the fourth day's play against India in the ongoing Test match of the series here on Sunday.

Australia ended the day's play 228 runs for the loss of nine wickets.

Indian fielders put up a sloppy show on the field and Australian batsmen kept frustrating the opponent bowlers the final day of the game awaits a tense closure of the game.

Australian lower order showed resilience and Scott Boland (10*) and Nathan Lyon (41*) shared an invaluable 55-run stand to cross the lead beyond the 300-run mark.

Indian fielders missed catches in crucial juncture of the match to add to the woes of the visiting squad.

Lyon survived a dismissal when a delivery by Bumrah was declared as no-ball.

In the afternoon session, young Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped two catches in quick succession.

Earlier in the day, Bumrah made solid inroads by taking quick wickets.

He dismissed Travis Head (1), Mitchell Marsh (0), and Alex Carey (2) in quick succession.

Bumrah completed taking 200 wickets in Test cricket in this match.

He ended the day's proceedings with 4/56.

Mohammed Siraj (3/66) supported Bumrah well, dismissing Usman Khawaja (21) and Steve Smith (13) to leave Australia at a precarious 91/6.

However, Marnus Labuschagne (70) and skipper Pat Cummins (41) retaliated and extended the lead against Rohit Sharma's men.

Earlier in the day, Australia wrapped up the Indian innings by picking up the wicket of century scorer Nitish Reddy (114) to bowl out the squad for 369.

India conceded a 105-run lead to Australia.
