Australia defeat India by 85 runs to win 5th Women's T20 WC trophy

Melbourne/UNI:  Defending champions Australia thrashed India by 85 runs in final to lift the ICC Women's T20 World Cup trophy for the fifth time at the iconic MCG, here on Sunday.

Opting to bat, Australia posted a mammoth total of 184-4 in 20 overs. Alyssa Healy top scored with 75 off 39 balls with seven fours and five maximums while Mooney remained unbeaten on 78, to help Australia post the big total.

In reply, India were bowled out on 99 in 19.1 overs. Jess Jonassen was the most successful bowler for Australia with 3 for 20.
