Bengaluru, Oct 4 (IBNS) Rookie spinner Kuldeep Yadav got his maiden call for the Indian national team when Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced ODI squad for the first three matches on Saturday.

The national selectors have sprung a surprise by naming young chinaman spinner owing to his impressive performance in the on-going IPL T-20 Champions League.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee met in Bangalore on Saturday, to pick the Indian team for the first three matches of the Micromax Cup, India vs West Indies ODI series, 2014.

Kuldeep is the lone new face in the truncated squad as the selectors have decided on a smaller contingent by announcing a 14-man team.

Dhawal Kulkarni, Stuart Binny, Sanju Samson and Karn Sharma are the four players who have missed out on selection from the team that featured in England, wheras Amit Mishra made a comeback in place of Karn Sharma.

The matches will be played at Kochi, Delhi and Vishakhapatnam on 8 Oct , 11 Oct and 14 Oct  respectively.

The team is as follows: Mahendra Singh Dhoni  (Captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, Amit Mishra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Mohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Murali Vijay, Kuldeep Yadav.

The Sandeep Patil-led panel has rested off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin for the first three games.
