Afridi to retire from ODI after WC
He has played 389 ODIs for the national side since making his debut in 1996.
In his career, he has scored 7870 runs in ODIs and has taken 391 wickets.
The 34-year-old captain held the ODI record for the fastest century in 1996 against Sri Lanka. New Zealand's Corey Anderson shattered his record this year.
"Thank you so much for all your support and prayers throughout my ODI career... it means alot to me.. love you all," Afridi tweeted.
"My 18 yrs dream dedicated to Pak. First ever player(respect) to hv such hard decision bt will paved way for many new talents. My journey has seen many ups and downs but I am feeling satisfied that I am leaving on my own terms," he said.
Afridi said his only regret is that he lost his fastest ODI record to Anderson.
"I am happy about my achievements and records but the only regret I have is losing fastest ODI century record," he said.
