ZEE5 unveils Pitchers S2 trailer

| @indiablooms | Dec 13, 2022, at 06:49 pm

New Delhi/UNI: ZEE5 has unveiled the trailer of the second instalment of the much-loved and cherished series Pitchers.

Produced by TVF, Pitchers made its debut in 2015 and went on to break the internet as it became an instant hit. Even on IMDB, Pitchers is one of the highest rated Indian shows with a star rating of 9.1.

While the first season revolved about four friends leaving their day jobs and starting a company together, S2 is about growing the company and surviving in the cut-throat world of start-ups.

Directed by Vaibhav Bundhoo, the series stars Naveen Kasturia, Arunabh Kumar, Abhay Mahajan, Abhishek Banerjee, Ridhi Dogra, Sikander Kher, Gopal Dutt, and Ashish Vidyarthi in key roles.

As seen in the trailer, we meet the Pitchers - Navin, Yogi and Saurabh –2.5 years after they started their tech company PRAGATI.AI. The Pitchers have now grown into a 25-member team and are seeking investors who will help them take their start-up to the next level of growth.

But with big dreams come bigger responsibilities and challenges so will the Pitchers be able to survive this cut-throat world of start-ups?

Flavoured with inspirational quotes, humorous one-liners, friendship goals and the reality of the start-world, Pitchers S2 is a deep dive into the nitty-gritties of entrepreneurial life.

Naveen Kasturia said, "Pitchers will always be special to me. The amount of love and respect I got because of that show is indescribable. Adulation from fans and their love didn’t die down all these years. They were persistent at asking us to come back with another season and we had to give in.

"While S1 was about taking that leap of faith and leaving our jobs to start our own company, S2 is about dreaming bigger and taking our start-up to the next level. Our start-up family becomes bigger, and the risks are higher. I am excited for our fans to witness this epic journey in S2 and shower us with more love so that TVF is compelled to bring back another season."

Abhishek Banerjee shared, "Pitchers is like homecoming because I started my web series journey with Bhati’s character in TVF Pitchers. No matter how many roles I essayed after it, but fans kept asking me about the return of Pitchers so here we are finally with the trailer of S2.

"While the boys have graduated from beer to whisky and from founding a start-up to growing the start-up, but the essence of Pitchers remains the same – it is still the story of relatable characters with real problems, big dreams and bigger determination to make it work."

Ridhi Dogra said, "As an actor, I couldn’t wait to hop onto the bandwagon of the fan-favourite franchise, Pitchers as it has received so much love and admiration over the years.

"While at the core of it, it's a story of the start-up life but what pulled me to be a part of it was that it says so much about aspirations, dreams and hope, which is not restricted to those in the start-up world but anyone who dreams and wants to achieve them. I'm thrilled to be a part of that franchise as my part in the show connects the dreams of these friends in the big bad world of capitalism."

Abhay Mahajan said, "Pitchers has given me not only love, fame and recognition but also another family. Naveen, Arunabh and the TVF guys are my family now and anything and everything with them is always fun. I have immense respect for Arunabh and his eye for storytelling.

"Pitchers is a prime example of a simple, relatable story of four guys leaving their day jobs and starting their own business; however the way it is told is what makes it inspiring, entertaining and engaging. Pitchers S2 is a much-needed reminder for all entrepreneurs as to why they started out in the first place and why they need to keep going".

Sikander Kher added, "Firstly, let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of TVF content and Pitchers is an iconic show which should not have taken this long to return! But now that it’s back, and I am a part of it, I could not have been more thrilled. The show has inspired many entrepreneurs and I have immense respect for what the team has managed to achieve. I am excited to join the franchise.

"I know just like me, the fans too are eagerly waiting but the good news is that they don’t have to wait for much longer as Pitchers S2 will premiere on ZEE5 on 23rd December."

Spanning across five episodes, Pitchers will be streaming on ZEE5 from Dec 23.
