'When young people feel unheard...': Rajkummar Rao breaks silence on NEET protest

Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao has joined the list of artistes who have voiced support for the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)'s protest against the government over the NEET paper leak.

In a post on Instagram, Rajkummar appealed for young people to be heard while urging all sides to refrain from violence and maintain peace.

"When young people feel unheard, it is a reminder that society must listen. Every voice deserves to be heard with dignity, fairness and respect. At the same time, peace must remain our greatest strength. Violence, from any side, only deepens wounds and takes us further away from meaningful solutions. This is a moment for dialogue and compassion," the actor wrote.

He further said, "Let students express themselves responsibly. Let authorities respond with empathy, openness and a genuine willingness to listen. Real and lasting change is built through conversation, not confrontation.

"That is what is needed now—more than ever. All of us collectively want one thing: growth for our nation, and the foundation for that growth is fair education."

Parliament March Triggers Violence

Dramatic scenes unfolded during the Parliament march on the streets of Delhi on Monday as police lathi-charged thousands of protesters, leaving several demonstrators injured.

Police also fired tear gas shells, barricaded roads and detained protesters as a massive confrontation erupted in one of the most significant anti-government protests in recent years.

According to reports, several police personnel were also injured during the clashes, which disrupted normal life across the city.

Why Are They Protesting?

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), an online satirical campaign, began its sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar nearly a month ago demanding Pradhan's resignation over paper-leak, besides a call for an educational reform.

The movement gained momentum after activist Sonam Wangchuk began an indefinite hunger strike on June 28 in support of the protesters.

The agitation intensified last week after Wangchuk was forcibly removed from Jantar Mantar by police and admitted to a hospital.
