Mumbai/IBNS: Nearly 20 years after the Nithari killings shook India, Warner Bros. Discovery and Trinetra are set to release a hard-hitting investigative docuseries, Nithari: Truth, Lies & Murder, reigniting national debate in the wake of the Supreme Court’s November 11 verdict overturning Surinder Koli’s final conviction.

The three-hour series, premiering Thursday on discovery+, returns to the heart of the 2006 Noida case with unprecedented access to case material, investigators, and—most notably—Moninder Singh Pandher, who appears on camera to share his version of events for the first time. With both Pandher and Koli now free, the documentary raises unsettling questions about what truly happened inside the D-5 residence in Nithari.

Sai Abishek, Head of Factual Entertainment, Lifestyle & Kids – South Asia at Warner Bros. Discovery, said the project seeks to examine the case beyond the established narrative.

“The Nithari case is unsettling, complex, and still shrouded in unanswered questions. The recent Supreme Court decision only underscores how relevant this case remains. What makes this project stand out is the unprecedented access to voices like Moninder Singh Pandher, allowing us to re-examine this confounding investigation through new evidence and perspective,” he said.

Directed by Deepak Chaturvedi, the docuseries draws from years of research, previously unseen footage, unedited police diaries, and confession tapes. Chaturvedi said the aim was not to retell horror but to restore context and accountability.

“The recent Supreme Court judgements have only made the story more urgent. By bringing together evidence, expert insight, and lived experience, we’ve attempted to separate fact from speculation and revisit the Nithari story with clarity and compassion,” he said.

Nithari: Truth, Lies & Murder features testimonies from investigators, journalists, forensic experts, and families who have spent nearly two decades fighting for answers. The series also scrutinizes systemic lapses that may have allowed the killings to go undetected, questioning whether the two men once sentenced to death were true perpetrators or scapegoats in a deeper conspiracy.

Through chilling recreations and a rigorous journalistic lens, the docuseries challenges long-held assumptions about one of India’s most disturbing criminal cases. It promises to be an uncompromising exploration of truth, power, and the quest for justice in a story where closure still feels elusive.

Truth, Lies & Murder premiered on discovery+ on November 20, 2025.
