Udta Punjab earns Rs. 21.30 crore in two days

Mumbai, June 19 (IBNS): Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor's recently released movie 'Udta Punjab' has earned Rs. 21.30 crore at the Box Office in the first two days since releasing on Friday.

"#UdtaPunjab Fri 10.05 cr, Sat 11.25 cr. Total: ₹ 21.30 cr. India biz... All set for ₹ 34 cr [+/-] opng weekend... Biz on weekdays crucial," film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.

Udta Punjab is an Abhishek Chaubey movie starring Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh.

Udta Punjab has released in theatres post its legal battle with the Censor Board and the film has been flying high ever since its release.

Udta Punjab is a film based on the lives of 4 individuals played by Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh who are impacted by the drug abuse faced in the connecting state of Punjab.

The movie, which created a controversy after the censor board directed several cuts, released under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Phanton Films, with only one cut following a court verdict that brought reprieve to the makers.
