Tollywood remembers Rituparbo Ghosh on his birth anniversary

Kolkata, Aug 31 (IBNS): Tollywood celebrities remembered late Indian filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh on his birth anniversary on Friday.

Actor Parambrata remembered him and tweeted: "With you, last remnants of erudition left the word of Bengali films. Happy birthday #RituparnoGhosh bhalo theko."

SVF Entertainment Pvt. Ltd tweeted: "Remembering #RituparnoGhosh on his birth anniversary. We miss you Ritu Da! @prosenjitbumba @ajaydevgn @Jisshusengupta @raimasen @tota_rc @DeeptiNaval @iammony @shrikantmohta."

Actor Prosenjit Chatterjee said: "31st August.It’s Rituparno Ghosh’s Birthday.On this day, what more could we have to offer to a person who loved us and cinema so dearly?We wish to bring to you an endeavour that gives us a deep insight into his extraordinary mind. Happy Birthday Ritu."

Apart from celebrities, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also remembered the director and tweeted: " Rituparno (Ghosh) is no longer with us. But his works will be immortal. Today is his birth anniversary. We miss you, Ritu."

The iconic filmmaker, who had enthralled audiences with his celluloid gems and gave Bengali cinema a new language in the post-Satyajit Ray and Mrinal Sen era, died in Kolkata May 30, 2013.

He was 49.

Ghosh burst into the Bengali film world with his 1994 film Unishe April and then directed Dahan and went on to make films like Titli, Bariwali, Dosar and The Last Lear starring Amitabh Bachchan and Preity Zinta.
