Toronto/IBNS: In recognition of May as Asian Heritage Month (AHM), 2021 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) presents a series of films and talks celebrating Asian excellence in cinema.

Series of films being shown by TIFF during the month of May are 'Ramen Shop' exploring identity across two Asian cultures of Japan and Singapore; 'Spa Night' highlighting the cultural clash between Koreans and Americans, 'Eve & the Fire Horse' embodying a fusion of Buddhism and Catholicism, 'Centre Stage' depicting Chinese culture, 'Better Days', and 'Meditation Park' showcase Chinese drama.

TIFF’s AHM program is made possible owing to the generous assistance of Blockchain Venture Capital Inc., Andy Chan, Elegant Financial Inc., Sharifa Khan/Balmoral Marketing, Alan Kwong, Ben Leung, Irwin Li, Nobis Inc., and Justin Poy.

The theme for AHM 2021, "Recognition, Resilience, and Resolve" is a call to action for all Canadians to come together to celebrate our diversity, which is our strength in our stand against all forms of anti-Asian racism and discrimination. AHM also embodies the sentiments of peoples of Asian descent in Canada and acknowledges their contributions in their diverse stories rooted in resilience and perseverance.
