Kolkata/IBNS: The Shaajo Shaajao song from actor-turned director Anirban Bhattacharya's maiden feature film Ballabhpurer Roopkotha captured the essence of Ballabhpur and its Rajbari, featuring lead actors Satyam Bhattacharya and Surangana Bandyopadhyay.

The song, which begins with Surangana taking a walk in a saree with dark glasses on, shows the intricate beauty, nuances of Ballabhpur as the story revolving around the Rajbari's last descendent progresses.

The song, which was launched at a city restaurant Friday evening, was sung by Sahana Bajpaie.

The music of the film is composed and arranged by Subhadeep Guha and Debraj Bhattacharya.

Speaking on the occasion of the song launch, Anirban says, "The relevance of this song, that emerged with the story, can be better understood when it will be heard while watching the film.

"We wrote the script of the film incorporating this song."

The film, which is slated for Kali Puja release, is based on Badal Sarkar’s very popular drama piece Ballabhpurer Roopkotha.

Satyam, who is making his debut with the film, said, "Shaajo Shaajao is my favourite song. I used to nag Anirban-da to let me hear it."

Sharing how she feels to feature in the song, Surangana told India Blooms, "It's a great feeling to see myself in the first shot of the song (video) considering the kind of talented artistes involved in this work."

The trailer of the film was unveiled by veteran actor-filmmaker Aparna Sen late last month.
