Shock in Kannada film industry! Actor-producer Dileep Raj dies at 47 after heart attack

Bengaluru/IBNS: Kannada actor-producer Dileep Raj died of a heart attack in the early hours of Wednesday, media reports said.

He was 47.

Though Raj was rushed to hospital after suffering the cardiac arrest, doctors could not revive him.

Rose to fame with Milana

Raj gained popularity with the 2007 Kannada film Milana, where he starred alongside Puneeth Rajkumar.

He later appeared in films like U Turn and Ambi Ning Vayassaytho, besides featuring in television serials including Hitler Kalyana.

Journey from television to films

Born in Bengaluru, Dileep Raj began his career in television before transitioning to films.

Apart from acting, he also produced Kannada television serials and worked as a dubbing artist.

He was known for his versatile supporting and character roles across cinema, theatre and television.
