Kolkata/IBNS: The struggle of an aged, formerly well-known writer with ailments to finish a biography on his late wife forms the crux of Atanu Ghosh's upcoming Bengali film Shesh Pata, which stars senior Tollywood actor Prosenjit Chatterjee as the protagonist.

The film's trailer was unveiled at a city mall on Tuesday.

Shesh Pata is the third collaboration between the national award winning filmmaker and Prosenjit Chatterjee.

"I can't write anymore. Writing gives me a headache," these are the opening words of Balmiki (played by Prosenjit Chatterjee) in the trailer spanning 2:12 minutes.

The entire trailer showcases Balmiki's struggle to finish the book, occasionally delving into his past experiences and thoughts of his wife, who was murdered 30 years ago.

After Balmiki fails to produce a single page of writing, the publishing house ropes in debt recovery agent Sounak (played by Vikram Chatterjee).

Vikram, who wears a different look in the film with formal attires and an untrendy moustache, unsuccessfully insists Balmiki to write the book. Here comes Medha (played by Gargee Roychowdhury) to do the writing on behalf of Balmiki.

On his third collaboration with Ghosh, Prosenjit Chatterjee tells IBNS, "No actor would miss an opportunity to essay a character like Balmiki. I had tried my best. It would be my failure if I had not been able to essay this character well working with someone like Atanu."

"Balmiki, I believe, will remain as one of the most important roles I have played in my career," the veteran added.

Prosenjit Chatterjee's earlier collaborations with Atanu Ghosh are Mayurakshi and Robibaar.

"The main aim of working with Bumba-da (Prosenjit Chatterjee) is to present him every time in a new way. Balmiki is a unique character in Bumba-da's filmography," said Ghosh.

Vikram's love interest is played by actor Rayati Bhattacharya.

Shesh Pata's poster was unveiled by the makers in February.

The Friends Communication production is slated for Apr 14 release.
