Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan prompts reopening of 25 shut single screen cinema halls

Mumbai/IBNS: The hype around Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan starrer Hindi film Pathaan has prompted the reopening of 25 single screen cinema halls, which were shut during Covid-19 pandemic, across the country, media reports said.

The cinema halls include the ones in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai, Goa, Chhattisgarh.

In a rare instance, the first show of the comeback film of Shah Rukh, who took a hiatus for four years since Zero release in 2018, was screened at 6 am in various halls across the country.

An action-packed film directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan stars actors Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead.

Going by the trend of advance bookings, Pathaan is expected to earn at least around Rs. 35-40-crore on the opening day and trample some of the recent blockbusters like RRR, Brahmastra, KGF: Chapter 2 in terms of box office numbers.

The film is scheduled to be released in around 100 countries.
