New Delhi, May 6 (IBNS): Aiming at helping the victims of the devastating earthquake in Nepal, RED FM, the largest radio station of India has come forward with its flagship initiative 'Bajao For a Cause'.

RED FM along with SEEDS India have joined hands for the initiative—‘Sau Ho Ya Hazaar Nepal Ko Do Apni Ek Din Ki Pagaar’ under the flagship of ‘Bajao For a Cause’. With this unique initiative, RED FM’s RJs have pledged to donate their one day salary to the Nepal earthquake relief fund and on their shows they are motivating their listeners to extend help for the earthquake victims.

To support our neighbor, RED FM has joined hands with SEEDS India—a non-profit organisation (NGO) which is working in Nepal to ensure that the relief material reaches the needy at the earliest. RED FM actively runs various campaigns related to social issues on the platform of ‘Bajao for a Cause’. As part of this initiative— ‘Sau Ho Ya Hazaar, Nepal Ko Do Apni Ek Din Ki Pagaar’, RED FM’s RJ Raunac personally visited Nepal to witness the ground situation.

RED FM also did a show with Radio Kantipur, which is Nepal’s leading radio station to connect with people from across the border. This is for the first time a radio station in India has come forward to collaborate with the leading radio station in Nepal to bring together the voices from across the border. RED FM morning No.1 RJ Raunac and Nepal’s Radio Kantipur’s RJ Ramon, did the morning show together. The show was broadcast in Delhi and Nepal simultaneously on May 6th, 2015.

Commenting on RED FM’s effort to support Nepal, Nisha Narayanan, COO, RED FM said, “We understand pain and sufferings of the people of Nepal and we hope and pray that our support helps the earthquake victims to come back to normalcy soon. RED FM has always been at the forefront when it comes to supporting causes related to humanity and in this unfortunate time, it is our duty to reach out to those who have lost their loved ones, homes and property. With ‘Sau Ho Ya Hazaar Nepal Ko Do Apni Ek Din Ki Pagaar, we hope that RED FM will be successful in motivating more and more people to extend support to those affected. We feel since Nepal is receiving aid from across the globe, extending monetary support is equally crucial at this juncture as the same can be utilized by the Nepal government and the NGO’s working there towards rehabilitation work.”

A massive earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 hit Nepal on Apr 25 and left more than 7000 people dead. It caused extensive damage to life and property. 93.5 RED FM decided to support the on-going relief and rehabilitation efforts in Nepal by urging people to contribute their bit and help Nepal get back to normalcy.

SEEDS India is an NGO that helps the lives and livelihoods of people exposed to natural disasters and living in disaster prone areas. SEEDS India is primarily engaged in shelter reconstruction and adopts locally based approaches to reduce the impact of future disasters on communities at risk. This time, RED FM has tied up with the NGO to support people in Nepal. All the online donations can be routed through bitgiving.com.
