Ranveer Singh flags deepfake alert after AI video of him endorsing political party goes viral

| @@indiablooms | Apr 20, 2024, at 08:29 am

After superstar Aamir Khan flagged a deepfake video of himself, which was a purported election pitch for a certain political party, actor Ranveer Singh has become the latest victim of the same.

A video of Ranveer recently surfaced online in which he is purportedly heard voicing his political views.

However, later it was revealed that the video was made using an artificial intelligence voice clone of Ranveer.

While the video, from the actor’s recent visit to Varanasi, appears to be genuine, the audio is that of an AI-enabled voice clone of Ranveer.

The Padmavaat actor has now taken to Instagram story to flag a deep fake alert and wrote: "Deepfake se bacho doston" (Beware of deepfakes, friends).

The actor, married to Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, recently turned showstopper for designer Manish Malhotra along with Kriti Sanon at an open-air fashion show by the Ganges in Varanasi.

During his visit to the ancient city, Ranveer spoke highly of the changes that have come about in terms of the public infrastructure overhaul while also sharing his ‘divine’ experience of the city.

On the work front, Ranveer Singh will be seen reprising his role of Simmba in Rohit Shetty’s cop drama Singham Again, which also stars Deepika Padukone, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Ranveer will also headline Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, slated for release in 2025.
