Ranveer Singh bags Filmfare Best Actor trophy, Gully Boy sweeps maximum honours

Guwahati/IBNS: It was a big night for Ranveer Singh on Saturday and he couldn't keep calm after winning the Best Actor award at the 65th Filmfare Awards for his performance in 'Gully Boy.'

Ranveer Singh was awarded the Best Actor for his 2019 film Gully Boy at the Filmfare Awards.

He received the award from the legendary actress Madhuri Dixit.

Ranveer took to Twitter to share his special moment with the caption: "A very special moment that I'll never forget. Receiving the Filmfare Best Actor trophy from one of the greats. Legend of the silver screen.The one and only, Madhuri Dixit. Etched in my heart forever."

The energetic actor even made a video call to the film's director Zoya Akhtar who won the Best Director award but was absent at the event.

Gully Boy bagged the highest number of awards at the Filmfare.

Besides Ranveer and Zoya, Alia Bhatt swept the Best Actress Award for Gully Boy.

Actors Siddhant Chaturvedi and Amruta Subhash received the Best Supporting Actor and Actress honours respectively for the same film.

The film also received awards for the Best Music Album, Lyrics and Dialogues as well.

The 65th Filmfare Award night was a star-studded affair and was hosted in Assam for the very first time.
