Director Prasanth Varma's Rakshas starring actor Ranveer Singh has been shelved, the makers confirmed on Thursday.

Ranveer Singh, Prasanth Varma and Mythri Movie have jointly said it was "not the ideal time for this project".

In an official statement, Prasanth said, "Ranveer's energy and talent is rare to find. We shall manifest our forces combining soon sometime in the future."

Ranveer said, "Prasanth is a very special talent. We met and explored the idea of a film together. Hopefully we will collaborate on something exciting in the future."

This comes amid reports that Ranveer opted out of the project over creative differences.

However, Prasanth had refused to comment on rumours related to the creative differences.

"The talk of me taking three-four days to shoot for half an hour is unfounded. We completed his look test efficiently. I’m not sure where these rumours originated, and I prefer not to dwell on them," the 'Hanu-Man' director had said.
