Kolkata/IBNS: Actor-director Parambrata Chattopadhyay on Saturday announced the second season of web series 'Parnashavarir Shaap', after his directorial show went on to become successful.

Parambrata, who marked his directorial debut on OTT with the show, made the announcement in presence of the lead cast comprising veteran actor-politician Chiranjit Chakraborty, Gaurav Chakrabarty, Anindita Bose, Surangana Bandyopadhyay.

On his decision to go for the second season early, Parambrata told IBNS, "Of course success and the viewership numbers played the primary role in making the second part. We already had the plan but the success played the catalyst's role."

The story takes off with Amiya, Mitul, Pallab, and Titas, who embark on a serene journey to Chamakpur, but their idyllic vacation takes a sinister turn as eerie occurrences plague their stay. Mitul's strange behaviour hints at a malevolent force lurking, casting a chilling atmosphere over their once-tranquil getaway.

Desperate to combat this dark presence, they seek the help of occult expert, Niren Bhaduri. Together, they unearth ancient secrets, leading to a sinister past and a menacing curse.

Commenting on his maiden experience of directing a web series, Parambrata says, "I have been following OTT for a long time so I already had a bit of understanding of this platform. Such an understanding has undoubtedly helped me in directing a series."

The series, which the director claimed to be 70-75 percent similar to the story with some basic changes, is streaming on Hoichoi from November 10.
