Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood star Alia Bhatt on Thursday paid a memorable "ode" to veteran actress Rekha reviving the latter's 'Silsila' look at the Umrao Jaan event in Mumbai.

Alia on Friday attended the screening of the restored version of Rekha's 1981 film Umrao Jaan.

The 32-year-old actress shared a set of pictures online showcasing her love for Rekha.

In one of the pictures, Alia, who styled her saree like Rekha's in 1981 film Silsila, was seen with the veteran.

The 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' actress wrote in the caption, "An ode to a living legend… there never, was, is or will ever be another like you, ReMaa."

The restored version of Umrao Jaan will re-release in theatres on June 27.

Directed by Muzaffar Ali, Umrao Jaan featuring Rekha in the lead is based on the 1899 Urdu novel Umrao Jaan Ada by Mirza Hadi Ruswa.

Rekha had won the National Film Award for Best Actress for Umrao Jaan, a cult classic which was praised for its poetry, music, and performance.

The restored version of Umrao Jaan will re-release in theatres on June 27.
