Mumbai/IBNS: The death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput triggered the debate of nepotism and favouritism in the Hindi film industry once again and as several celebrities faced the heat in the social media, Sonam Kapoor decided to shut trollers with her strong messages posted online this weekend.

On Father's Day, which was celebrated on Sunday, Sonam wished her dad Anil Kapoor and along with the message she decided to silence trolls when she wrote: "'A father’s tears and fears are unseen, his love is unexpressed, but his care and protection remain as a pillar of strength throughout our lives.' – Ama H. Vanniarachchy I’m blessed to be born to a father who has taught me the value of integrity, morals, progressive ideas and the importance of work ethic, I’m lucky enough to marry into a family where my father in law leads by example with his optimism, spirituality and doing everything he does with an unbeatable conscience."

Vanniarachchy I’m blessed to be born to a father who has taught me the value of integrity, morals, progressive ideas and the importance of work ethic, I’m lucky enough to marry into a family where my father in law leads by example with his optimism, spirituality and doing everything he does with an unbeatable conscience. Both of them have given me unconditional love and support. And they’ve both started with nothing and reached stars and have done everything to give their children whatever they need so they don’t have to face the same trials they faced. But our most important inheritance is the values that they have passed down. Happy Father’s Day to the super heroes in my life.. I am because of you.

"Both of them have given me unconditional love and support.

"And they’ve both started with nothing and reached stars and have done everything to give their children whatever they need so they don’t have to face the same trials they faced.

"But our most important inheritance is the values that they have passed down. Happy Father’s Day to the super heroes in my life.. I am because of you," she posted her strong message.

She also shared screenshots of several vilest messages and comments she has been receiving on social media platforms.
"This is some of comments coming my way. All the media and all the people who’ve encouraged this sort of behaviour and instigated it. This is on you. People talking about how one should have been kind to someone are doing worse to others," she wrote sharing the screenshots.

She said she hopes her fans and their parents do not need to see such comments in their life.

"I encourage you guys to see my comment section. And I’m sure you don’t hope that the same comes your way. I hope your parents don’t have to see this sort of this stuff," she said.

"Bullying, misguided vengeance, and the need to further your own agenda not caring about the collateral damage. This is all your karma. May god and the universe forgive you," she said.

Meanwhile,  after receiving a massive criticism and backlash on social media over "nepotism" following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, filmmaker-producer-actor Karan Johar has unfollowed all but eight people on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Karan now follows Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Apoorva Mehta and three handles related to Dharma Productions on Twitter.

The celebrated filmmaker took the step after he was accused of ecnouraging "nepotism" in Bollywood leading to the death of Sushant who committed suicide at his flat in Mumbai's Bandra on last Sunday.

Following the death of Sushant, netizens as well as Bollywood personalities including Kangana Ranaut, Abhinav Kashyap called out Karan, actors Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan for indulging "favouritism", "nepotism" and maintaining a control in the film industry.

The social media was stormed with posts calling for a boycott of films made by the "nepotism-supporter" filmmakers or actors.
