Mumbai/IBNS: Despite the glorious Oscar honour for RRR number 'Naatu Naatu' and its blockbuster performance at the 95th Academy Awards, singer Kaala Bhairava managed to upset a section of the Internet.

After the electrifying performance at the Oscars that received a standing ovation from the audience, singer Kala Bhairava has been sharing long notes of gratitude on social media but missed to thank the lead stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan, who were featured in the original video.

The song, which bagged the award in the ‘Best Original Song’ category, was performed by him along with singer Rahul Sipligunj.

Bhairava thanked RRR director SS Rajamouli and music composer MM Keeravaani among others.

After missing out on acknowledging the lead actors, he issued a clarification in his latest tweet and apologised to the fans.

"I have no doubt Tarak anna and Charan anna are the reason for the success of Naatu Naatu and RRR itself," he tweeted.

"I was ONLY talking about who all helped me get my opportunity for the Academy stage performance. Nothing else. I can see that it was conveyed wrongly and for that, I sincerely apologise for my choice of words," he added.

Earlier, Oscar's live performance of the 'Naatu Naatu' track sparked anger among a significant number of people.

The reason being the dance number was performed by a group of dancers who were not of Indian origin.

The two male dancers who performed the lead roles at the awards ceremony are Billy Mustapha and Jason Glover, who hail from Canada and the United States, respectively.

A lot of people have publicly criticized the decision to cast non-South Asian dancers for the live performance of 'Naatu Naatu'.

They argued that this undermines the anti-colonial message of the song, as in the movie which is set in pre-independence India.

The 'Naatu Naatu' sequence from RRR portrays a dance battle in which Ram Charan and Jr NTR's characters, Raju and Bheem, defeat their British opponents through dance.

The act was introduced by actor Deepika Padukone, who was one of the presenters at the Oscars this year.

'Naatu Naatu' beat out several other popular tracks, including Lady Gaga's 'Hold My Hand' and Rihanna's 'Lift Me Up' to win the Oscars.
