Mithun Chakraborty's Kabuliwala hits big screens in US

Kolkata/IBNS: Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty starrer, Suman Ghosh directed Bengali film Kabuliwala, which has garnered good reviews and meaty numbers in the domestic circuit, is now open to theatres in the United States.

The film, which is based on Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore's short story Kabuliwala, was released in major US states from February 2.

The film has made its mark in several states, including Nevada, Texas, Ohio, Raleigh, Los Angeles, North Carolina, California, Florida, Michigan, Washington, Georgia.

In the film, Mithun Chakraborty takes the center stage in the role of Rahmat, a character that resonates across generations, promising to rekindle the emotional warmth that touched hearts years ago.

The tale of Rahmat, set against the bustling cityscape of Kolkata in 1965, unfolds as an Afghan man's paternal love overflows for a little girl named Mini, portrayed by Anumegha Kahali.

The film explores the universal themes of love that knows no boundaries, transcending both geographical borders and cultural divides.

Abir Chatterjee and Sohini Sarkar step into the roles of Mini's parents, enriching the narrative with their compelling performances.

The film, which is produced by Jio Studios and SVF, hit the theatres in West Bengal on December 22 and was released nationally on December 29.
