Kolkata/IBNS: Tollywood actress Mimi Chakraborty, who is one of the film personalities to protest against the RG Kar incident, has received a rape threat on social media.

Mimi on Tuesday shared a screenshot on her X handle revealing two users giving her rape threats.

She posted on X, "AND WE ARE DEMANDING JUSTICE FOR WOMEN RIGHT????

"These are just few of them. Where rape threats has been normalised by venomous men masking themselves in the crowd saying they stand by women. What upbringing nd education permits this????"

The actress has tagged DCP (Cyber Crime) of Kolkata Police in her post.

Mimi, a former Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha MP, was one of the Tollywood A-listers to join the night vigil on August 14 on the eve of India's 78 Independence.

Reacting to the rape and murder of 31-year-old junior doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Mimi had posted on X, " Punishment should be such that next time even thinking of a henious crime like this gives you shiver down the spine.

"#RGKarMedicalcollege Some1’s daughter died, some1’s dream, some1’s family nd the loss is irreparable. No mercy plea is what i stand for. I stand with you."

One person, a civic volunteer, has been arrested in connection with the case but protesting students as well as the victim's parents suspect more people are involved in the case, which is now probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
