Los Angeles, Jan 30 (IBNS): Hollywood actress Meryl Streep, originally Mary Louise Streep, has applied to trademark her name to protect it from getting misused, media reports said.

Streep has reportedly applied for the trademark which will give her an exclusive right over the name.

No one in the entertainment industry will be eligible to use the name other than Streep herself.

She has filed an application under US Trademark Office.

The 68-year old actress has reportedly spent USD 275 to apply for the trademark.

Streep was last seen in The Post, released in Jan 12.
