Mahesh Bhatt, Karan Johar's manager summoned for interrogation in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case
Mumbai/IBNS: Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has said Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt will be summoned by the Mumbai Police on Monday, July 27 for questioning in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, according to media reports.
Statements of 37 people recorded so far in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, he said, adding that Mahesh Bhatt will record his statement in a day or two.
Summons have been already sent to Kangana Ranaut to record her statement.
Karan Johar's manager has been called, and if needed, Johar will also be summoned: Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, he told media.
The police have questioned Aditya Chopra and Rajeev Masand and Bhatt and Johar's manager will be the next prominent names to be interrogated in the case.
Earlier, Kangana Ranaut in an explosive interview with Republic TV had said Maharashtra Police's investigation would remain a farce until it questioned the 'real powerful'.
She had questioned Mahesh Bhatt's role in Sushant's personal life, and said, "Sushant's girlfriend at the time Rhea in her statement mentioned Mahesh Bhatt. How is he related? Bhatt's first AD has written how Bhatt used to counsel him. Who was Mahesh Bhatt in Sushant's life? What was Mahesh Bhatt doing between Rhea and him? Everyone wants to know. Why is Mumbai Police not calling Mahesh Bhatt for questioning?"
In the interview she had named the other top industry personalities like filmmakers Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar, and film critic Rajeev Masand and alleged that they had "systematically sabotaged" and sidelined Sushant Singh Rajput.
