What is Karwa Chauth?

Karwa Chauth is a Hindu festival which is widely celebrated in North and West India around this time.

The festival is celebrated on the fourth day after the full moon based on a lunisolar variant of the Hindu calendars.

On this occasion, women fast from sunrise to moonrise praying for the safety of their husbands.
