Kangana Ranaut blasts B-town over Sushant's death, asks if it was 'suicide or planned murder'

Mumbai/IBNS: Actress Kangana Ranaut, known for challenging the Bollywood royalty over nepotism, has asked if the death of Sushant Singh Rajput "was suicide or planned murder", hinting that the actor was driven to take the extreme measure, even as a storm raged over the tragedy on social media platforms like Twitter.

As the debate over nepotism found its way once again into the public glare over the death, a visibly angry Kanaga Ranaut in a two-minute video seemed to have espoused the same on Monday and accused the industry of pushing Sushant to take such a drastic step.

She said Sushant's death has left her devastated but the 'Queen' actress slammed the 'parallel narrative' over the issue.

Kangana said she fails to understand how some are saying that people with weak mind commit suicide by getting depressed.

"A guy who has a scholarship from Stanford... he is a rank holder of his engineering entrance, how can his mind be weak?" she asked in the video shared by her team on Instagram.

She said Sushant had in some of his posts had literally begged to people to watch his films as he had 'no Godfather in the industry.'

"He had complained in interviews that why people from the industry don't accept me as an actor," Kangana said.

She also called out the awards and accolade system and said: "Disgusting films like Gully Boy gets all awards but no one acknowledged great ones like 'Chhichhore'."

"We don't want anything from you, just appreciate the good works we do. My own films go unnoticed. People find Sanjay Dutt's addiction very cute but sycophant journalists call me or people like Sushant psychotic or neurotic or addict. Why are they pushing me towards suicide? Was his death suicide or a planned murder?"

"Sushant's only mistake was he listened to them who told he was worthless and forgot what his mother told him," she said, adding that some people are trying to write history of Sushant as a person of weak mind.

Sushant's death has created a new ripple in the social media with some raising the issue of depression while others are targeting celebrities like Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt and even Salman Khan over favouring those having Bollyoowd lineage.

Several Twitteraties have lashed out at Bhatt and Johar for nepotism in Bollywood.

They have in fact gone to the extent of accusing Johar and Bhatt as those responsible for lowering Sushant's morale (citing an episode of Koffee With Karan), who was trying to climb the ladder in Tinseltown all by himself.

Amid the social media row, actress Sonam Kapoor tweeted that it is 'ignorant' to blame anyone for a suicide.

"Blaming a girlfriend , ex girlfriend, family , colleagues for someone’s death is ignorant and fucking mean spirited," she wrote.

Salman Khan too was targetted for ruining careers of actor Vivek Oberoi, musicians Arijit Singh and Mithoon.

He was accused by the Twitter users of destroying the career of Vivek Oberoi for dating Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the ex-girl friend of the Dabangg star.

Leaving the industry and his fans shocked, Sushant, considered as a promising actor, committed suicide at his flat in Mumbai's Bandra on Sunday.
