I haven't died: Akshay Kumar on receiving 'condolence-type messages' after consecutive flops

Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is unfazed by his rough run in the box office in recent times, as he exuded stoicism in the run-up to his next release, Khel Khel Mein.

Akshay was asked by a journalist over his consecutive flops in recent times at the trailer launch event of Khel Khel Mein.

The 56-year-old actor, who has delivered countless hits over the years, said he was surprised by the "obiturary-type messages" that he received amid the dismal run in the box office.

He said, "Four or five of my films haven't worked but people send me obituary messages. I haven't died. I receive condolence-type messages. One of the journalists had even written 'Don't worry, you will be back'. I rang him up and asked why was he writing such things? Where have I gone? I am in the market and working.

"I will keep on working, no matter what people say. I wake up, go to work and return home. I earn with all my hardwork. I don't ask for anything. I will keep on working till people have to shoot me down."

Akshay is gearing up for Khel Khel Mein, which has an ensemble cast starring Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Taapsee Pannu and others.

The film will be released in theatres on August 15 in a box office clash with Stree 2.
