I am a foodie but gorge on Chinese: Raima Sen

| | Feb 07, 2016, at 06:46 pm
Kolkata, Feb 7 (IBNS) Actor Raima Sen gorges on Chinese food but likes munching other delicacies including the Mexican and Lebanese.
“My personal favourite is Chinese, my all time personal favourite. But I simply love the aroma of Mexican dishes and the tanginess and frequent my favourite eatery when I come to Forum,” Raima tells IBNS at the launch of first TGIFriday in Kolkata, the premier American food chain last week.

“So long I used to visit the TGIFriday outlet in Delhi which is my personal favourite. But now I am enjoying the ambience of the same brand in my home city. Kolkata is fast developing, in terms of infrastructure and fashion hotspots,” Raima says.

Expressing her love for Bengali dishes also, Raima says "Though Kolkata has always been famed for its Bengali cuisine, that only defines the city's penchant for different types of food."

"Delhi and Mumbai are way ahead in culinary terms but Kolkata is catching up real fast," she says.

The spokesman of TGI Friday Kolkata, says consumerism is now at an all time high in Kolkata where the urban clientele is evolving and for the discerning Kolkata consumers it will be the same menu as served in the US.

TGI Friday’s restaurants is among the top U.S. casual dining brand in the international marketplace with more than 908 restaurants in 60 countries with a uniquely American heritage which includes being credited with inventing and popularizing Long Island Iced Tea and Loaded Potato Skins.

"We now happen to be at the right place right time. However, keeping in mind the Kolkatan's fetish for sea food, we will have a little bit more

seafood. There will be delicacies like shrimp wrapped in paper which will go down well with Kolkata's palate," he says.

"There will be both Food and beverage catering to all segments of upwardly mobile clentele," he says.
