'Happy New Year' likely to collect Rs. 40 cr on Day 1

Mumbai, Oct 24 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Happy New Year' is expected to collect Rs. 40 crore on its very first day at the Box Office, said reports.
The film opened to 95-100 percent occupancy on Friday, koimoi.com reported.
 
It managed to open massively in Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad.
 
The film is the major release on this year's Diwali weekend.  
 
At a time when Salman Khan's 'Kick' and Hrithik Roshan's   'Bang Bang' have already dominated the Box Office, it is now SRK and Deepika Padukone whose  'Happy New Year' is promising to entertain movie lovers.
 
The film brings back the hit-trio of of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Farah Khan. They had produced a massive performance with their  'Om Shaanti Om' in 2007.
 
Director Farah Khan tweeted: "In a few hours 10 yrs of dreaming,2 yrs of hard work n a lifetime of memories will release..right now all I am is calm before the storm."
 
Beside SRK and Deepika, the film also features Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani and Sonu Sood.
