Mumbai/IBNS: Actor-politician Govinda was on Friday discharged from hospital, three days after he was injured due to a misfire from his licensed gun.

"I thank my supporters and well-wishers. I am safe with their blessings," said the actor, who was on a wheelchair, after the discharge.

Govinda, who was about to catch a flight to Kolkata for an event on Tuesday, suffered the injury below his knee due to the misfiring.

The incident occurred at around 4:45 am when the actor was getting ready for the flight.

He was alone when the firing took place.

The Shiv Sena leader was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.
