First look poster of Taapsee Pannu starrer Mithali Raj's biopic Shabaash Mithu releases

Mumbai/IBNS: The first look poster of Shabaash Mithu, a biopic on former Indian women's cricket captain Mithali Raj, was released by the makers on Wednesday.

Actress Taapsee Pannu will portray Raj in the biopic.

Sharing the poster on Twitter, Pannu said, "“I have always been asked who’s your favourite male cricketer but you should ask them who their favourite female cricketer is.” The statement that made every cricket lover pause n introspect that do they love the game or the gender playing it. @M_Raj03 you are a ‘Game Changer’"

The biopic, which will be directed by Rahul Dholakia, will release on Feb 5, 2021.

Raj, who has already retired from the T20 format, continues to play for India in One Day Internationals (ODIs) as a batsman.

The announcement of the biopic was made on Raj's 37th birthday on Dec 3, 2019.
