Kolkata/IBNS: Based on a complaint filed by lawyer-turned-Trinamool Congress (TMC) spokesperson Riju Dutta, the Kolkata Police on Friday registered an FIR with Ultadanga Police Station against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut over her 'controversial' Instagram post about the ongoing tumult in West Bengal, officials said.

According to sources in the city police, the case has been lodged against Kangana under IPC sections 153A, 504 and 505(2), and sections 66 and 43 of the IT Act.

Accusing Kangana Ranaut of instigating communal violence through her Instagram posts, Riju Dutta on Thursday filed a complaint against the actress at Ultadanga PS.

Earlier on May 4, Twitter permanently blocked the official account of Kangana Ranaut after her tweets had allegedly violated the rules and guidelines of the micro-blogging platform.

Reacting to the legal action against her, Kangana has accused Bengal Chief Minister of 'killing her voice' and said that she can not be scared by the cases and FIRs.
