Kolkata, May 20 (IBNS) Filmmaker Moumo's short film ‘Adieu’ was shown at the 69th Cannes Film Festival on May 9.

Moumo attended the acclaimed film festival for the entire duration and looks forward to the tantalizing experience.

Her previous short film ‘Fruit of Thy Labour’ had also gained entry into the Cannes Film Festival last year, and was screened there.

Produced by Orange Corp, Adieu is a 12 mins short film starring Pradip Mukherjee, famous for his roles as the protagonist in a number of Satyajit Ray films, including 'Pratidwandi' and 'Jana Aranye'. A number of other actors from the Bengali film and television industry have also acted in the short film.

The film’s music has been composed by the renowned music composer, Raja Narayan Deb, who has composed sensational music for a number of Bengali and Hindi films, including several films by Rituparno Ghosh.

Souvik Basu has done the cinematography and art direction is by Tapas Sarkar. The entire team has worked very hard to make a short film that speaks volumes in the shortest span of time. ‘Adieu’ has the look and feel of a feature film, and the professionalism and dedication that went behind the making of the film is clearly noticeable.

The story revolves around a hospital ward and its patients, dealing with the friendships developed between complete strangers, who are admitted to a hospital and end up sharing the same ward. They battle for their lives together and in the process form a deep bond that cannot be defined by logic.

Orange Corp, a Mumbai based production house, has also signed Moumo for her first feature film in Hindi and the young director is tremendously excited about her first break in the Mumbai film industry.

The production house is concentrating on producing content driven films that are meant for the fast-paced minds of the modern day individuals. The production house has already planned three films in a row, and is backing young professionals of the industry who have smart and intriguing stories to tell. Moumo is one such individual. She has already started working on the script, which is based on an original story written by the director herself. The film’s title is yet to be announced and it is expected to go on floors by the end of this year.
