Every true-blue Bong is a foodie : Parambrata

Kolkata, Sept 12 (IBNS) Actor Parambrata Chatterjee revisited the role of a chef in his recently released 'Roga Hobar Sahaj Upay' donning the apron and hat at a Mexican food festival.
"Every Bengali is a foodie and he or she loves to experiment. There has been sea change in past seven-eight years in Kolkata's cuisine map with opening of new speciality restaurants. People of Kolkata now can truly savour international food at their neighbourhood. This is a good sign" Parambrata told IBNS at Cafe Mezzuna.

Stating how much he is stricken by the cultural vibrancy of the city of art, music, and fabled street food, Parmbrata said from the recent food themed film Roga Habar Sahaj Upay to the shower of sweets in Ray's Goopey Gyne Bagha Byne, Bengalis innovation always come to the fore.

In Roga Habar Sahaj Upay, Parambrata's chef character had courted the two Bong sisters Raima and Riya Sen on celluloid through the culinary route.

On a personal note, Parambrata likes to stay away from greasy food.

"But the taste of the Tex-Max cuisine is very exotic and it is popular all over the world and I have found similarities between this delicacy and our continental dishes in terms of spicy aroma. It will taste familiar to the Indian gourmet," he said.

Especially crafted by legendary Tex-Max Chef Johnny Walsh, the festival offers a wide array of Nachos with Salsa Sour Cream, Mango and Tequila Glazed Prawn, Quesadillas, Burritos and many other lip-smacking dishes.

The cuisine will be served from 11:45 am to 11 pm in the run up to the Puja days at the Cafe Mezzuna outlet where the special meal for two is priced at Rs 1000 plus taxes (without alcohol) with city band Generation belting out American-Mexican numbers,
