Farmers Protest

Diljit Dosanjh praised for standing up to Kangana Ranaut over 'Queen' actor's farmers' protest reaction

Mumbai/IBNS: Actor Kangana Ranaut, who was advocating the anti-nepotism campaign in Bollywood few months ago, took a plunge into a fresh row by criticising the massive farmers' protest but only to be countered by her industry-mate Diljit Dosanjh, who hails from Punjab.

Ranaut, who had grabbed headlines for alleging foul play in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, falsely claimed Bilkis Bano, popularly known as Bilkis Dadi, who had participated in the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), was taking part in the farmers' protest for Rs. 100.

Also Ranaut, who is known for her support for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), called actor-singer Dosanjh a "servant" of filmmaker-producer Karan Johar, with whom the 'Queen' actor shares a strenuous relationship.

In an unsparing counter-attack on Ranaut, Dosanjh said as quoted by media, "Do you have any common sense? How dare you speak about our mothers like that? Go scare someone else in the name of Bollywood. We were born to crush egos of people like you. You can continue to say whatever you want about Bollywood. It’s become a habit for you now to bad-mouth everyone possible."

He tweeted, "In that case, wouldn't you have a long list of masters to answer to?"

"These people are not from Bollywood. They belong to Punjab. You can say whatever you like but we won't be perturbed. You are well-versed in lying and manipulating people's emotions," he added.

Giving full support to Dosanjh, singer Mika Singh tweeted, "I used to have immense respect for Kangana Ranaut I even tweeted in support when her office was demolished. I now think I was wrong, Kangana being a woman you should show the old lady some respect. If you have any ettiquete then apologise. Shame on you.."

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta tweeted, "Diljit ne dil jeet liya."

Actor Swara Bhasker tweeted, "Diljit Dosanjh is a STAR! Dil-jit actually!"

"I love Diljit Dosanjh," tweeted actor Kubra Sait.
