Dev Patel gets Oscar nomination

Los Angeles, Jan 24 (IBNS): Indian origin actor Dev Patel, who has gained international fame with his performance in several movies, has earned Oscar nomination for his acting in “Lion”.

He will be competing to grab the Best Actor in a Supporting Role title.

The other nominations in the category are Mahershala Ali (“Moonlight”), Jeff Bridges (“Hell or High Water”) and Michael Shannon (“Nocturnal Animals”).

The Oscar nominations were announced on Tuesday.

La La Land has earned 14 nominations.

It has equalled the record of  All About Eve and Titanic.
