Dangal crosses Rs. 100 crore mark

Mumbai, Dec 26 (IBNS): Actor Aamir Khan created another mega arrival on the silver screen after a gap of two years as the superstar's latest released movie 'Dangal' crossed crucial Rs. 100 crore mark in just three days since releasing on Friday.

The film, based on wrestling, has earned Rs. 106.95 crores in India till Sunday.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#Dangal Fri 29.78 cr, Sat 34.82 cr, Sun 42.35 cr. Total: ₹ 106.95 cr [incl Tamil and Telugu]. India biz. FANTABULOUS!"

"#Dangal hits CENTURY... Crosses ₹ 100 cr mark... Sun biz was HUMONGOUS... Smashing RECORDS... Setting new BENCHMARKS," read his another tweet.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal is a biopic of India's foremost wrestling family, the Phogats.

It stars Aamir Khan as former Indian wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra as wrestlers Geeta and Babita Phogat respectively.

Dangal released on Dec 23, 2016 in India.
