Chengiz trailer: Jeet as underworld kingpin promises action-packed entertainment

Kolkata/IBNS: The journey of drug mafia named Jaidev Singh alias Chengiz, played by Tollywood superstar Jeet, anchors the trailer of upcoming action-packed Bengali film Chengiz.

Directed by Rajesh Ganguly, the film is set to portray the underworld scene of 1970s, 1980s and 1990s Calcutta (now Kolkata).

The 2:48-minute trailer captures Jeet's megalomaniac screen presence, action sequences, loud dialogues and his brief romance.

The trailer begins narrating how the 'king of central Calcutta' Omar, the 'king of east Calcutta' Manik Sanyal, the 'boss of the docks' Mughal Abbas alias Mirchi Bhai used to control the city's underworld in the 1970s.

But the table was turned by Chengiz who "scripted history" and "changed the face of history".

Jeet's dialogue "In this city, winter, summer, monsoon happen when I want," sums up the kind of dominance the protagonist is set to show in the film.

Besides his journey as a drug mafia in the underworld of Calcutta, Jeet romances with young actor Sushmita Chatterjee.

Apart from Jeet and Sushmita, the film features Rohit Bose Roy, Shataf Figar in key roles.

Chengiz is the first Bengali film to be simultaneously released in the Hindi language.

Prior to the trailer, Chengiz's rocking song Widda Widda Re featuring the two lead actors was released by the makers in both Bengali and Hindi languages.

The film, which is produced by Jeet Jeetz Filmworks in association with AA Films, will be released on April 21 on the occasion of Eid.
