Bollywood actor Viju Khote dies at 77

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Viju Khote, who is best remembered for playing the character of 'Kalia' in iconic movie Sholay, passed away on Monday.

He was 77.

Indian filmmaker Ashoke Pandit tweeted: "Sad to know about the demise of one of the finest actors #vijukhote ji. My deepest condolences to his family. ओम् शांति !."

Actor Satish Shah said: "A dear friend and a veteran actor Viju Khoté passed on today. May you rest in eternal peace."

Khote had worked in more than 300 films in Hindi and Marathi cinema.

He is most remembered for his role in Zabaan Sambhalke (1993) TV serial.

He has also acted in Marathi theatre over the years.

In 2018, he was last seen in Bollywood movie Jaane Kyun De Yaaron.

He is best remembered for working in movies like Golmaal 3, Andaz Apna Apna, among others.
