Kolkata/IBNS: Windows Production on Wednesday unveiled the item number Dakatiya Banshi from their upcoming Durga Puja release, Bohurupi.

The song features Koushani Mukherjee in a striking red saree alongside Shiboprosad Mukherjee.

The song is composed by Bonnie Chakraborty and performed by Shrestha Das, original Bohurupi artist Nanichora Das Baul, and Bonnie Chakraborty himself.

The launch took place during a flash mob event in the New Market area, where Koushani Mukherjee danced alongside Nanichora Das Baul and other performers.

The song opens with Bikram, played by Shiboprosad Mukherjee, traveling to a place called Chhyanchrapur, where he is greeted by numerous Bohurupi performers.

Jhimli (Koushani) then dances and celebrates to the tunes of Dakatiya Banshi with the people of Chhyanchrapur. This captivating presentation was choreographed by Mangesh Khedekar (Maggi) and his team.

Sharing her experience, Koushani said, "Dakatiya Banshi will always hold a special place in my heart as this is my first item number. Shooting this song was quite an experience; we filmed it during the summer heat, with temperatures reaching 45 degrees. We worked tirelessly in those conditions. Since this is purely a dance number, I hope the audience loves it."

Music Director Bonnie Chakraborty expressed his excitement, saying, "Dakatiya Banshi is set to be the highlight of this pujo. We have dedicated countless hours to perfecting this song, and my entire team has worked tirelessly, day in and day out, to bring it to life. The passion and commitment everyone has shown during this process truly reflect in the final product, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!"

Choreographer Mangesh Khedekar (Maggi) shared his experience saying, "It has been an incredibly enriching experience to work with Shibu Da and Nandita Ma’am in my first Bengali film, Bohurupi. In Dakatiya Banshi, the Bohurupi artists were facing the camera for the first time, which posed a challenge for all of us. However, the team managed them exceptionally well.

"Kaushani is a fantastic dancer, and with Shibu Da being the master of expressions, both of them elevated the entire shooting experience, making it even more memorable."
