Mumbai/IBNS: The trailer of Pulkit directorial Bhakshak, starring Bhumi Pednekar in the lead, was unveiled by the makers on Wednesday.

The trailer shows Bhumi playing a journalist, named Vaishali Singh, who investigates crimes against girls in a shelter house.

Bhumi, who goes out to risk her life at times to continue with her investigation, even gets questioned over her action by her own family.

At the end of the trailer, Bhumi questions whether people have stopped being empathetic or turned 'Bhakshak' (literally meaning eater).

Apart from Pednekar, the film features Aditya Srivastava, Sanjay Mishra and Sai Tamhankar in significant roles.

The film will be released on Netflix on February 9.

A story of resilience, says SRK

Sharing the trailer on his X handle, Bollywood superstar-producer Shah Rukh Khan said,"A story of resilience that needs to be told. #Bhakshak a film inspired by true events, releasing on 9th February, only on Netflix!"

The film is produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment.
