Begum Jaan opens strong at the box office, claim makers
A release said the A-rated film has held its own despite other strong releases like the Punjabi movie, Manje Bistre starring Gippy Grewal and the popular worldwide franchise The Fate of the Furious.
National Award winning director Srijit Mukherji’s made the film in Hindi version after the success of the Bengali.
Vidya Balan plays a strict brothel owner ready to take down those who have wronged her.
"She effortlessly slips into her character hurling expletives and simultaneously showcasing affection towards her women. Chunk Pandey’s villainous avatar of Kabir gives us a break from his comical escapades, while Gauahar and Pallavi’s performances are noteworthy!
