Avengers: Endgame rocks Indian Box Office on opening day

Mumbai, Apr 27 (IBNS): Marvel Studios’ superhero spectacle Avengers: Endgame has registered a rocking start at the Box Office in India with the movie collecting a whooping Rs 53 crore in the country.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#AvengersEndgame emerges a game changer... Sets new benchmarks on Day 1... An eye opener for the industry that feels national holidays/festivals yield best results at the BO... Fri ₹ 53.10 cr Nett BOC. India biz. Gross BOC: ₹ 63.21 cr. NON-HOLIDAY RELEASE."

The movie even surpassed the first day collection of 2018 Bollywood movie Thugs of Hindostan.

Avengers: Endgame, which released on a non-holiday, emerged as the highest earning Hollywood movie in India this year, as per the first day's collection is concerned.

The movie hit Indian silverscreen on Friday.

Avengers: Endgame is a 2019 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to 2012's The Avengers, 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron and 2018's Avengers: Infinity War, and the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and features an ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Bradley Cooper, and Josh Brolin.
