Anurag Kashyap supports KJO over ADHM stir, asks, Modi to apologise for his Pak trip

| | Oct 16, 2016, at 08:29 pm
Mumbai, Oct 16 (IBNS): Director Anurag Kashyap has now come out in support of Karan Johar whose film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is facing trouble with cinema hall owners deciding to stall the release of the movie.

Following the controversy, Anurag Kashyap tweeted: "The World must learn from us.. We solve all our problems by blaming it on movies and banning it.. #ADHM . With you on this @karanjohar."

He further said even Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not apologise for the trip he had taken to Pakistan last December.

According to Kashap, Karan Johar had started shooting the film around the same time so why will the director only face the music over the troubled India-Pakistan relations.

"@narendramodi Sir you haven't yet said sorry for your trip to meet the Pakistani PM.. It was dec 25th. Same time KJo was shooting ADHM? Why?," Kashyap tweeted.

He asked, "@narendramodi why is it that we have to face it while you can be silent??"

"@narendramodi and you actually diverted your trip on our tax money, while the film shot then was on money on which someone here pays interest," Kashyap went on.

He also apologised to PM Modi for the tweets stating he was just trying to analyse the situation.

"@narendramodi I am just trying to understand the situation because I am actually dumb and I don't get it. Sorry if you feel offended," Kashyap posted.

He added, "Btw Bharat Mata ki Jai Sir @narendramodi."

This comes after Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI) on Saturday announced that they would not screen movies starring Pakistani artistes in the four states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Goa.

'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' features Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles along with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.

The statement was made amid tensions over troubled India-Pakistan relations following Uri attack.

'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' is supposed to release across the country on Oct 28.
