Amitabh Bachchan reasons why Irrfan Khan's demise more grieving

Mumbai/IBNS: The Indian cinema witnessed some major losses this week with the demise of two actors Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor but Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan cites reason for his more intense grief over the death of Paan Singh Tomar star.

Irrfan, who was suffering from cancer, passed away on Wednesday at a Mumbai hospital. He was 53.

Just a day later, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor breathed his last at a hospital here leaving behind his loads of films for his fans to cherish.

Bachchan, however, is more grieved over Irrfan's death as he feels the Life of Pi actor lost his opportunity to essay more memorable characters onscreen.

"The death of an elder celebrity vs death of a younger .. the grief of the latter more intense than that of the former .. why ..? Because you lament the loss of opportunity in the latter .. the unrealised possibilities," Bachchan's tweet reads.

Following Kapoor's demise, Bachchan had said in a tweet, which he has later deleted, that he was "destroyed".

Bachchan's son Abhishek was beside the Kapoor family during the last rites of Rishi Kapoor.
