Lucknow/UNI/IBNS: Acting legend Amitabh Bachchan will airlift about 1,547 migrants in chartered flights to Gorakhpur, Prayagraj and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.

Six flights, two each for every destination, will leave on June 10 and 11.

There will be 180 migrants on each flight.

According to sources here, Bachchan took the step after a Shramik special train to ferry these migrants underwent a technical problem.

Big B has taken the support of Mahim Dargah Trust and Haji Ali Dargah Trust to arrange for the flights, sources said.

The megastar had also arranged 10 private buses from Mumbai to Prayagraj, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Bhadohi along with other places for the migrant workers in May as well.

Earlier actor Sonu Sood had arranged buses to ferry stranded migrant workers to their home states.
